JUDGING LIST CRITERIA
(Revised 2016)
CHAMPIONSHIP A1 LIST
For Persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to
award CC's in the breed, fufil the Afghan Hound Club of Scotland's A3
list criteria and have the support of The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland.
CHAMPIONSHIP A2 LIST
For Persons who fufil all the requirements for the A3 list, and who
have been assessed in accordance with the Kennel Club requirements
and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have
the support of The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland
CHAMPIONSHIP A3 LIST
Breed Specialist
For Persons who fufil the following criteria:
1.  To have had 10 active years in the Afghan Hound Breed.
2.  To have been judging Afghan Hounds over a minimum period of 7 years      and have the support of The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland.
3.  To have passed an approved judging examination in accordance with
    the Afghan Hound Breed Council criteria. (In the case of applicants in
    the breed before 1st January 1968, this may be waived at the discretion
    of the Breed Council, and to have had an Afghan Hound registered with
    the Kennel Club in his/hers name prior to 1968.)
4.  The applicant to have owned or bred a minimum of 3 Afghan Hounds
    when they obtained their 1st entry in the KC Stud Book. (Save in
    exceptional circumstances)
5.  To have judged a minimum of 50 classes of Afghan Hounds, which
    includes one 10 Breed Club Show or better, but in all at least 10 shows.
6.  To have judged a minimum of 150 dogs (number optional by club).
7.  To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer, and
    have passed the relevant exam on KC regulations and Judging
    Procedures. (KC policy as of 01/07/2001)
8.  To have attended a Conformation and Movement "Hands-on
    Assessment. (KC policy as of 01/07/2005)
9.  To have attented at least one Breed Specific seminar run in
    accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and
    passed an exanination and/or assessment where applicable.

10. To have stewarded at 12 shows.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP A3 LIST
Non Specialist
For Persons who fufil the following criteria:
1.  To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to
    include 5 years in this breed) and to have the support of the Afghan
    Hound Club of Scotland.
2.  To have judged a minimum of 75 classes of Afghan Hounds, which
    includes one 10 class Breed Show or better, but in all at least 10 shows.
3.  To have judged a minimum of 150 dogs (KC policy).
4.  To have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.
5.  To have passed an approved judging examination in accordance with
    the Afghan Hound Breed Council criteria.
6. To have attended at least 1 breed specific juding seminar with a hands on       training session run in accordance with the relevent KC Code of Best               Practice.
7.  To have stewarded for a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 shows,
    at time of application.
8.  To have owned or bred a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they
    obtained their 1st entry in the KC Stud Book.

Overseas Judges:
An overseas Judge must have completed a minimum period of 7 years juding at CC level or equivalent, including 5 years for Afghan Hounds and have the support of the Afghan Hound Club of Scotland.

 
OPEN SHOW B LIST
Breed Specialist
For Persons who The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland would support to
judge the Breed without Challenge Certificates, subject to the following qualifications
1.  To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting Afghan Hounds.
2.  To have judged a minimum of 20 classes of Afghan Hounds at Open
    or Limit Shows.
3.  To have passed an approved judging examination in accordance with
    the Afghan Hound Breed Council criteria.
4.  To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer, and have          passed the relevent exam on KC Regulations and Judging Procedures
5.  To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on                      Conformatons & Movement with “hands on” Assessment and passed the        assesment.
6. To have attended at least 3 Breed Specific Seminars run in accordance            with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an
     examination/and or assessment where applicable
7.  To have stewarded a minimum of 4 shows, of not less than 4 classes,
    at the time of application.

OPEN SHOW B LIST
Non Specialist
For Persons who The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland would support to
judge the Breed without Challenge Certificates, subject to the following qualifications.
1.  To have judged a minimum of 20 classes of Afghan Hounds at Open
    or Limit Shows.
2.  To have judged these over a period of 6 years.
3.  To have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.
4.  To have judged 45 dogs of this breed.
5.  To have attended 3 breed specific seminar with a hands on training                  session run in accordance with KC Code of Best Practice
6.  To have passed an approved judging examination in accordance with
    the Afghan Hound Breed Council criteria.
7.  To have stewarded a minimum of 4 shows, of not less than 4 classes,
    at the time of application.

OPEN SHOW C LIST
Breed Specialist
For Persons who The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland would support to
judge the Breed at shows where  Challenge Certificates are not awarded, and a maximum of 3 classes, subject to the following qualifications.
1.  To have 4 years experience owning and exhibiting Afghan Hounds
2.  To have stewarded not less than 12 classes of any breed.
3.  To have attended 1 breed specific seminar with a hands on training                  session run in accordance  with KC Code of Best Practice

OPEN SHOW C LIST
Non Specialist
For aspirant judges who have shown and interest in the Breed, and who have the support The Afghan Hound Club of Scotland, to judge the Breed at shows where  Challenge Certificates are not awarded, and a maximum of 3 classes scheduled, subject to the following qualifications.
1. To have judged a minimum of 15 classes of Afghan hounds at Open or             Limit Shows
2.  To have stewarded not less than 12 classes of any breed
3.  To have attended 1 breed specific seminar with a hands on training                  session run in accordance  with KC Code of Best Practice.

Please note that all applications MUST be supported with copies of relevant Seminar attedance certificates and breed exam plass, where applicable.
